• Project under way to define and enhance MGH brand
  Today's new era of competitive health care delivery has made it critical that the hospital invest in one of its most important assets: the MGH "brand." A large-scale initiative currently is under way to define the MGH brand and provide a framework for communicating it in a way that is relevant and meaningful to the hospital's many audiences.

• MGHers go the distance for a good cause
  An MGH group of 139 runners laced up their sneakers April 18 and ran for causes close to their hearts during the 109th annual Boston Marathon.

• Out of tragedy comes hope
  Last December's earthquake and tsunami off the coast of Southeast Asia destroyed homes, vacation resorts, killed more than 200,000 people and left thousands homeless. But in the midst of such tragic events, came hope for a little boy who was injured in the disaster.

• The Clubs Be Fit team makes a comeback
  In week eight of the Be Fit competition, members of the Clubs at Charles River Park team were feeling discouraged; they had lost in each of the three categories of the competition With rededication and support, the team has come back from its disappointing early results.

• Award recognizes MGH Stroke Service
  Stroke remains the third leading cause of death in the United States and represents a leading cause of serious disability. The MGH Stroke Service recently was recognized by the American Stroke Association for implementation of an acute stroke quality improvement initiative.

• MGH honors 2005 Pam Ellis Award recipient
  Reina Galindo of the MGH Transplant Clinic was named this year's winner. Nominated by all her coworkers, she is described as "a candle that burns at both ends to allow those in between the flames to be cared for and supported."

• MGH hosts obesity conference
  To encourage discussion and determine ways to intervene with the growing obesity problem, the MGH Community Benefits Program and MGH Community Health Associates co-sponsored "The Obesity Epidemic: What Does It Mean for the Health of our Communities."
