MGH Charlestown celebrates Bunker Hill Day

To show their community spirit, the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center participated in Bunker Hill Day festivities June 12 and 17. This past Bunker Hill Day —June 17— was the 230th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill and honored the patriots who fought and died there. On June 12, physicians from the center and their families marched in the Bunker Hill Day parade. MGH Charlestown also teamed up with the MGH/MGPO Marketing Department to bring Clifford the Big Red Dog to the parade to greet all the children. On June 17, the Bunker Hill Monument Association (BHMA) held its 182nd annual meeting at MGH Charlestown in the second floor conference room. At the lunchtime meeting, members could view the 10 original design proposals of the Bunker Hill monument from 1825 that the association loaned to the center.

"It was a pleasure to host the Bunker Hill Monument Association's annual meeting," says Peggy Carolan, administrative director of MGH Charlestown. "And we were extremely honored when we were asked to temporarily display the 10 architectural drawings in the health center's conference room."
