MGH Ladies Visiting Committee scholarship
The MGH Ladies Visiting Committee will offer a scholarship to clinicians who wish to advance their professional training by enrolling in a certificate or degree program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Eligible candidates include nurses, physical therapists and other direct health care providers who have worked at the MGH for a minimum of one year. Current and newly admitted students are eligible to receive financial assistance for a maximum of three academic credits. The deadline to submit an application for fall enrollment is Aug. 15. Human Research Committee summer workshops
The Human Research Committee will offer two monthly seminars at the MGH and BWH designed for research community members who write or edit consent forms. Ann Ogletree, senior human research specialist and consent editor for Partners Research Management, will conduct the workshops. The workshops will be held from 9 am to noon July 19 and Aug. 16 in the BWH HHMI Conference Room and July 20 and Aug. 17 in the MGH Yawkey Center's Schiff Conference Room 4820. To register, send an e-mail to aogletree@partners.org and specify the dates preferred. Enrollment is limited to 12 per session.

Perioperative nursing information session
The MGH will host a Perioperative Nursing Training Session, Aug. 2, from 2 to 7 pm in the Sweet Conference Room. There will be opportunities to meet with representatives from Human Resources and operating room staff and also tour the operating rooms. The program begins in October and applicants must be registered nurses with experience in an acute care setting. For more information, call Michele Andrews at (617) 724-6052.

Clinical pastoral education program fellowships
Through funding from the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center and MGH Nursing, fellowships are available for the winter 2006 MGH Clinical Pastoral Education Program. Six Kenneth B. Schwartz Fellowships in Pastoral Care will be awarded to caregivers in disciplines other than pastoral care. Two spiritual caregiver fellowships also are available to registered nurses in MGH Nursing who are direct caregivers and who have at least two years of experience in nursing. The program is part-time and will run from Jan. 9 through May 22. Applications are due Sept. 1. For more information, call (617) 726-2220.
