Partners bowling league
The Partners candlepin bowling league is entering its 57th bowling season and is looking for new members. The league meets at 5:30 pm every Thursday, from September to April, at Saco's Bowl Haven, 45 Day St. in West Somerville on the MBTA's Red line, Davis Square station. Nursing career expo
MGH Patient Care Services Human Resources will host a nursing career expo Sept. 25, from noon to 3 pm in the North and East Garden Dining Rooms. Learn about and interview for staff nurse (new graduates and experienced), clinical nurse specialist and nurse manager opportunities. Latino heritage month
The MGH is celebrating the fifth annual Latino heritage month Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The Latino Heritage Planning Committee will sponsor Latino American film night Sept. 21, from 5 to 7 pm in the Haber Auditorium. The film "The Motorcycle Diaries" will be shown — a true story about Che Guevara, who as a medical student from Argentina traveled across South America on a personal odyssey that ultimately inspired him to become a revolutionary.

Smoking cessation program
The MGH Quit Smoking Service is offering an afternoon smoking cessation program beginning Sept. 22 at noon. This seven-week program includes information about preparing to quit, coping with stress without cigarettes, preventing weight gain and staying cigarette free. Domestic violence education and support group
The Employee Assistance Program is offering a confidential, 10-week education and support group for all female employees of Partners HealthCare who have been affected by domestic violence, either in past or current relationships. The first meeting will be held Oct. 6, from 4:30 to 6 pm. Weekly discussions will help members understand the impact of domestic violence in their lives and the lives of their children while promoting individual strength and healing. PIE awards deadline
The nomination deadline for the Partners In Excellence (PIE) awards is approaching. All nominations are due Sept. 23. To complete a nomination form, visit intranet.partners.org/pie/. Forms also are available from managers and supervisors. The awards ceremony will be held Dec. 2 at 3 pm in the WACC lobby. Fall 2005 computer training schedule
Partners Information Systems Training has released the MGH Fall 2005 schedule for Microsoft Office 2000 computer training classes. New Sunday hours at Treadwell Library
Treadwell Library now will open and close one hour earlier on Sundays. New Sunday hours are from 1 to 7 pm.

Call for Macaluso Award nominations
Nominations now are being accepted for the Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN, Excellence in Clinical Practice Award. Nomination forms are available in all patient care areas, in department offices and at the Gray Lobby information desk. All nominations must be received by Sept. 30. Awardees each will receive $1,500 for a conference or course of their choice. Recipients will be announced in December. For more information, call (617) 724-5801.
