- Friends
with Hope provide support for breast cancer research
Barbara Smith, MD, PhD, director of the Gillette
Center for Breast Cancer at the MGH Cancer Center, recently received
a $20,000 donation from the “Friends with Hope” organization
to support her breast cancer research. The money was raised through
the organization's annual 5k walk and a dinner/dance
charity event.

- MGHers
walk for a cause close to their hearts
More than 130 MGHers donned their sneakers and
MGH T-shirts Sept. 17 despite the threat of inclement weather to participate
in the Boston Heart Walk. The MGH team raised more than $40,000 to help
increase awareness and money for cardiac care and research for the American
Heart Association (AHA).
