Keep
your iPods to yourself
There
now are different versions of these small devices that can contain thousands
of downloaded songs — the original iPod, the iPod Shuffle and the
iPod Nano. All of these tiny entertainment centers range in price from
$100 to $500, making them not only valuable to their owners but also enviable
items for potential thieves. The thefts of iPods are growing exponentially
even at the MGH, where an increasing number of iPod thefts recently have
been reported to MGH Police and Security.
MGH Police and Security offer the following tips to keep iPods and other
small electronic devices safe:
- Don't leave your iPod unsecured.
- If you are on a subway, keep it in your hands at all times.
- At work, either take the iPod with you when you leave or lock it
in a secured drawer and take the key with you.
- Never leave your iPod in the workplace when you go home for the day.
- If you leave your iPod in your vehicle, lock it in your glove compartment.
