Celebrating precious gifts

More than 100 transplant donors, recipients and their families gathered in the WACC Sept. 28 for the "Celebrate the Donor" dinner. The event, hosted by Nina Tolkoff-Rubin, MD, medical director for the Renal Transplant Program, and the program's staff, honored those selfless individuals who have given the gift of life to their spouses, parents, children, siblings, friends and in some cases, strangers. Organ donors and recipients shared their compelling stories and learned about new programs to potentially expand the living donor pool.
