Optical coherence tomography symposium
The Wellman Center for Photomedicine, the Harvard-MIT
Health Sciences and Technology Division and the Center for Integration
of Medicine and Innovative Technology will co-host "Optical Coherence
Tomography Symposium: Advanced Capabilities for Clinical Practice and
Basic Research" Nov. 7, from 8:15 am to 5 pm in the third floor Conference
Center of the Simches Research Center. This symposium is approved for

Working and breastfeeding presentation
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor
a work/life seminar on working and breastfeeding Nov. 8, from noon to
1 pm at VBK Room 401. Germaine Lambergs, RN, IBCLC, MGH lactation consultant,
will teach expectant and nursing mothers about breast feeding basics.

EatWISE, Eat Smart lecture
The MGH Senior HealthWISE program will host a six-week
nutrition workshop for seniors 60 years and older on Thursdays, beginning
Nov. 10, from 1 to 2 pm at the West End Library. The series will feature
hands-on exercises, group discussions and cooking demonstrations. Admission
is free, and pre-registration is required. For more information or to

Nominations for psychotherapy award
The Endowment for the Advancement of Psychotherapy
is seeking nominations for the Award for Leadership in the Advancement
of Mental Health to honor those who have made a significant contribution
to the understanding of psychotherapy. To request a nomination form, send

14th annual pediatric memorial service
The MGH Comfort and Support After Loss Team will
be holding the 14th annual Neonatal, Pediatric and Obstetric Memorial
Service Nov. 6, from 2 to 4 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. The service
is for parents, staff and families to honor the lives of children who

Simches Research Center reception
A reception celebrating the opening of the Richard
B. Simches Research Center will be held Nov. 15, from 2 to 4 pm on the
third floor. At 2:15 pm, there will be a short program featuring Peter
Slavin, MD, president of the MGH; David Torchiana, MD, chairman and chief
executive officer of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization
(MGPO); and Rick Bringhurst, MD, senior vice president of Medical Services
and Research for the MGH and the MGPO. Light refreshments will be served.

Menopause and health presentation
The MGH Women's Health Coordinating Council will
host "Menopause and Your Health" Nov. 15, from 5:30 to 8 pm
at the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care. The program will help women
understand menopause and treatment options. The
registration fee is $25, and scholarships are available. For more information,
