Partners patient safety newsletter
The first issue of the Partners patient safety newsletter "Safety
Net" now is available online. It features tips and information about
how to keep patients safe and can be accessed at intranet.partners.org/ClinicalAffairs/content/Newsletter/Current.pdf.
PCWD website launch
The Partners in Career and Workforce Development (PCWD) has launched its
redesigned website, which features new information about health care careers
and higher education. PCWD will host an information table Nov. 16, from
11 am to 1 pm in the Main Corridor next to Coffee Central. Cookies and
cider will be served. For more information, visit www.partners.org/pcwd.
Burr Scholarship for Occupational Therapists
Applications are being accepted for the Burr Scholarship for Occupational
Therapists for Partners occupational therapists in post-professional programs
at the MGH Institute of the Health Professions. All applications must
be received by Nov. 19. For eligibility requirements or to access an application,
visit www.mghihp.edu/Admissions/financialaid.html.
CNY blood drive
The MGH
Bloodmobile will host a blood drive Nov. 16, from 8:30 am to 2 pm
at CNY. The Bloodmobile will be parked on 13th St. in front of CNY Building
149. All employees are welcome, and an ID badge is necessary to donate.

EAP healthy lifestyle seminar
The Employee Assistance
Program (EAP) will host "How to Be a Healthier You" Nov.
17, from noon to 1 pm in the Thier Conference Room. The seminar will teach
participants about nutrition, fitness and stress reduction. The panel
includes Lillian Sonnenberg, DSc, RD, LDN, manager of MGH Ambulatory Nutrition
Services, and Kate Brill-Daley, general manager, Michelle Connelly, massage
therapist, and Joe Dankese, personal trainer, all of The
Clubs at Charles River Park. Admission is free. For more information,

MGH basketball league
The MGH fall/winter basketball league will begin Dec. 5. The league is
open to both men and women, and all players must be MGH/PHS employees.

Last week to donate to the MGH United Way
campaign
There still is time to make a donation to the MGH United Way campaign,
which comes to an end Nov. 18. To donate directly online, visit www.massgeneral.org/unitedway.
Anyone who donates will be entered into the weekly raffle drawing and
the grand prize raffle. Donations must be received by 5 pm Nov. 18. You'll
