Helping
patients and staff understand Medicare Part D
MGH
Patient Financial Services, Senior HealthWISE, Partners Community Benefits
and the MGH Blum Patient and Family Learning Center are joining together
to help MGH patients understand their Medicare Part D prescription options
and to help with enrollment in prescription plans. During this month,
patients and MGH staff will be able to choose from weekly information
tables, weekly workshops and daily one-on-one counseling sessions to assist
them in understanding and assessing their coverage options.
Information tables will be held Jan. 24 and 30, from 10 am to 2 pm. At
these tables — located in the Main Corridor adjacent to the Blum
Center — visitors will have access to brochures and free assessments
and pre-screenings for their personal
Medicare Part D needs.
Medicare patients and their families also have the option to attend weekly
group workshops, to be held Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, from 9:30 am to noon.
Both sessions will take place in the Blum Center. MGH Patient Financial
Services and Senior HealthWISE staff will be available to answer questions,
offer support and provide individualized attention as needed. Pre-registration
is encouraged and is available at the information tables. Daily one-on-one
counseling sessions — held in the Blum Center with MGH Patient Financial
Services staff — are an additional resource providing personalized
assistance tailored to individualized needs.
For more information about these sessions or to register for the workshops,
call (617) 726-2191.
