Nominations for Family-Centered
Care Awards
MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHC) now is accepting nominations
for the annual Family-Centered Care Awards for employees who best exemplify
the MGHC's mission. All MGHC employees are eligible and can be nominated
by any employee, patient, family or visitor. Nomination letters can be
sent to Judy Newell, RN, on Ellison 17 and must be received no later than
April 18.
Wellman Center
lecture series
The Wellman Center for Photomedicine will host "Engineering Human
Melanoma: Discovery and Definition of Therapeutic Targets" April
11, from 2:15 to 3:15 pm in the Thier Conference Room, with a coffee reception
at 2 pm. Hans Widlund, PhD, MSc, of the Pediatric Oncology Department
at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, will present. To see a complete schedule

Advanced cardiac life
support course
The MGH Emergency Department will host an advanced cardiac life support

Innovation in research
panel discussion
The MGH Office for Research Career Development, in collaboration with
MGH Corporate Sponsored Research and Licensing, will host a panel discussion
"Funding through Innovation" April 14, from 4 to 5:30 pm in

Be Fit events
The MGH Be Fit program now is sponsoring "Fire it Up Friday"
walks with Be Fit survivor Allan Dolinski of MGH Environmental Services.
The walk takes place on Fridays, beginning at 12:15 pm at the Jackson
entrance. Be Fit also is hosting stair climbing sessions with Dan Murphy,
a personal trainer at The Clubs at Charles River Park.The sessions take
place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning at 4 pm at the Ellison

Senior HealthWISE
events
MGH Senior HealthWISE will host a diabetes expo April 11, from 11 am to
noon in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Topics will include sugar tests,
glucometer calibration and diabetes management information. Frank Bellistri,
NP, and Brenda Reen of Neighborhood Diabetes, will present. Senior HealthWISE
also will host "Advance Directives: How, What, Where, When and Why?"
April 17, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Hill House at 127 Mount Vernon St.
