Susan Briggs, MD, of MGH Surgery and director of the International Medical Surgical Response Team (IMSuRT), provided the keynote address at the American Trauma Society Pennsylvania Division's conference awards ceremony March 20. Following her presentation, "The Impact of Hurricane Katrina: Lessons Learned," Briggs was presented with the John M. Jr. and Josephine J. Templeton Award.

Brian French, RN, professional development coordinator for the MGH Knight Nursing Center for Clinical and Professional Development, recently was selected as the recipient of the 2006 Excellence in the Role of Professional Development Facilitator, Change Agent and Consultant Award by the National Nursing Staff Development Organization.

Theresa McLoud, MD, of MGH Radiology, is serving as chair of the Board of Directors of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). The RSNA is one of the primary scientific and educational societies in the field of radiology.

Charles McCabe, MD, of MGH Emergency Services, has been selected the recipient of the 2006 Harvard Medical School Special Faculty Prize for Sustained Excellence in Teaching. He will be presented with the award at a gala event to be held May 23.
