MGH
honors employee military heroes for their service
The selfless sacrifices of hospital employees who have served in various
branches of the U.S. military — both stateside and abroad —
are being honored with a plaque recently installed on the MGH Employee
Wall of Recognition on Ellison 1. The plaque is just one of many recent
efforts to recognize MGHers for their military service. Earlier this spring,
the hospital also hosted a special luncheon to thank these employees.
The honorees are: Raymond Bisio, RN, of Emergency Services; Lisa Boulay
of the Clinical Care Management Unit; John Bruttaniti of Police and Security;
Douglas Dresnek of the Cutaneous Biology Research Center; Pierre Felix
of the Eat Street Café; Byron Hernandez of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery; Gregg Meyer, MD, of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization;
Richard Pino, MD, PhD, of the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care;
Junior Senat, RN, of Ellison 19; Edward George, MD, PhD, of the Department
of Anesthesia and Critical Care; William Hutchins of Police and Security;
Daniel Lonergan, RN, of Blake 11; Karl Mitchell, RN, of Blake 8; Maria
Romanoff, RN, of Blake 11; Greg McKenna, RN, NP, of Occupational Health;
and Taryn Pittman of the Blum Patient and Family Learning Center. Former
MGH employees Elaine F. D'Aprile, RN; Frank Haluska, MD; Michael Lazo
and Harry Orf, PhD, also were honored.
During the month of June, the Blood
Donor Center also will be honoring military service in the MGH community
with Armed Services Blood Donor Month, which launched during the Memorial
Day weekend. For more information about the blood drive, click here.

of the MGH; Keila Silva Barros, leave of absence coordinator for Human
Resources; and Jeff Davis, senior vice president for Human Resources
