MGH Executive Committee on Research: New leadership Three distinguished MGH staff members have been appointed to the leadership team of the MGH Executive Committee on Research (ECOR). Jerrold Rosenbaum, MD, chief of the Department of Psychiatry, has been appointed chair of ECOR; Daniel Haber, MD, director of both the MGH Cancer Center and Center for Cancer Risk Analysis, has been appointed vice chair; and Robert Kingston, PhD, chief of the Department of Molecular Biology, has been appointed chair of ECOR's MGH Thematic Centers Executive Committee. These leaders will support the committee's goal to provide strategic guidance to MGH executives and trustees on future research priorities and will work towards fostering the integration of research with the hospital's mission of providing excellence in patient care and education. In succeeding Rosenbaum as vice chair, Haber also will serve as chairman of the MGH Research Council. As chair of the Thematic Centers Executive Committee, Kingston will assume responsibilities previously held by John Parrish, MD, chief of Dermatology and a past chair of ECOR. "I anticipate that under their strong and able leadership,
ECOR will continue to provide solid strategic guidance for MGH research,"
says Peter L. Slavin, MD, president of the MGH. "I am grateful that
all three have agreed to serve in these roles for the next three-year
term and look forward to working with them." |
