• MGHers celebrate at annual Employee Summer Picnic
  A week of rainy weather took a well-timed and welcome hiatus June 27 as hundreds of MGH employees gathered for the annual Employee Summer Picnic held under the Bulfinch Tent and on the lawns.

• MGH physicians perform at Partners Night at the Pops 2006
  The ninth annual "Partners Night at the Pops: A Celebration in Honor of Our Physicians," was held June 23 at Symphony Hall.

• HIPAA knows no boundaries
  To help MGH employees and staff avoid privacy breaches under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines, the MGH offers continuing education about HIPAA rules and regularly publishes questions about patient confidentiality in the MGH Hotline, which are answered by Eileen Bryan, MGH's HIPAA compliance specialist. .

• Stoeckle Center seminar on "juggling"

  Boston's rainy spring weather turned to warm sunshine in time for the ninth annual ABCD Field of Dreams benefit softball game at Fenway Park June 13.

• Making a Difference grants improve care
  MGHers honored the recipients of the 2006 Making a Difference grants at a poster display and reception held June 6 in the Trustees Room. The Making a Difference program — which is sponsored by the MGH and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization — offers up to $5,000 in support of employee initiatives that improve the quality of care at the hospital for patients and their families.
