  • HIPAA knows no boundaries
    To help MGH employees and staff avoid privacy breaches under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines, the MGH offers continuing education about HIPAA rules and regularly publishes questions about patient confidentiality in the MGH Hotline, which are answered by Eileen Bryan, MGH's HIPAA compliance specialist. .

    MGH staff had the opportunity to learn the art of "juggling" at the Stoeckle Center seminar "Join the Juggler's Aid Society: Thriving Not Just Surviving in Primary Care," with guest speaker Linda Hawes Clever, MD, MACP, president of RENEW.
  • MGH Chelsea shares safety tips
    Parents and children learned some important safety lessons at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center's annual Family Summer Safety Fair and Bike Rodeo held June 10.
  • JCAHO Jeopardy Championship
    Alex Trebek was nowhere in sight, but that didn't stop three MGH ambulatory care teams from battling for the grand prize in the JCAHO Jeopardy Championship held June 23 in the Simches Center.
  • Making a Difference grants improve care
    MGHers honored the recipients of the 2006 Making a Difference grants at a poster display and reception held June 6 in the Trustees Room. The Making a Difference program — which is sponsored by the MGH and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization — offers up to $5,000 in support of employee initiatives that improve the quality of care at the hospital for patients and their families.
