Senior HealthWISE medication workshop
MGH Senior HealthWISE will offer a "Be Med Smart" medication
workshop July 24, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the West End Library, 151 Cambridge
St., Boston. Topics will include tips for organizing medications and instructions
on how to complete a "Be Med Smart" card that contains all medical
information and can be given to health care personnel in an emergency.
Blood pressure checks also will be available. This event is free for seniors
age 60 years and older, and registration is required. For more information

2007 Making a Difference grant proposals
Proposals currently are being accepted for the 2007 Making a Difference
grant program, which supports new initiatives and pilot projects that
improve care for patients, services for families and the work environment
for MGH employees. Proposals must be for new projects; existing programs
and projects are not eligible for funding. All MGH and MGPO employees,
volunteers and Bulfinch temps are welcome to apply. The application deadline
is Aug. 15. To request an

Be Ready: Prepare to Respond
The MGH Emergency Preparedness Committee will sponsor two information
tables July 19, from 7 am to 5 pm in the Main Corridor. Visitors can learn
about emergency planning for both families and MGH staff, and emergency
planning experts will be available to answer questions. Visitors also
can enter a raffle to win one of two emergency kits that will be on display.

Run for Hope to benefit MGHC cancer research
The Four Seasons Hotel Boston will sponsor the annual 5K Run for Hope
Sept. 10. The race will begin at 10 am at the Lagoon on the Esplanade
in Boston. All proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer research at MassGeneral
Hospital for Children. For more information or to register as a runner,

CNY Employee Blood Drive
MGH employees working at CNY are invited to provide important help to
MGH patients by participating in a blood drive July 19, from 8:30 am to
2 pm. The MGH Bloodmobile will be located at CNY Building 149. For more
