Senior HealthWISE events
The MGH Senior HealthWISE lecture series will host "Acupuncture and Other Alternative Therapies" July 25, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Guest speaker Irene Martynuik of the MGH HOPES Program will discuss the benefits of acupuncture and other alternative therapies for pain management. Senior HealthWISE also will offer a "Be Med Smart"medication workshop July 26, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the West End Civic Association Community Room, One Emerson Place, Boston. Topics will include tips for organizing medications and instructions on how to complete a "Be Med Smart"card that contains all medical information and can be given to health care personnel in an emergency. Blood pressure checks also will be available. Registration is required. Both events are free and for seniors age 60 years and older.
