Research fellows showcased at ORCD celebration

The scientific achievements of MGH research fellows recently were showcased at the MGH Office for Research Career Development's (ORCD) first Research Fellow Poster Celebration at CNY.

F. Richard Bringhurst, MD, senior vice president of Medicine and Research Management, (at right) gave the welcoming remarks, and Nancy Tarbell, MD, director of the MGH Center for Faculty Development and Tayyaba Hasan, PhD, director of the ORCD, commended the fellows for their hard work and success.

In addition to the poster session, 11 abstracts were selected as award winners by a panel of faculty judges prior to the event, and the top five were chosen for oral presentations of their work. The award presenters were Hwa Kyoung Shin, PhD; Pawel Mroz, MD; Sarika Verma, PhD; Lauren Weiss, PhD; and Elena Zalyapin. Honorable mentions were awarded to E. Murat Arsava, MD; Jong-Min Lee, PhD; Imran Rizvi; Leileata Russo, PhD; Olga Syrinka, MD; and Guoqi Zhang, PhD.
