Ambulatory care practices get ready for JCAHO

The MGH Practice Support Unit and the MGH Compliance Office recently co-hosted an information-packed JCAHO Resource Fair in the Thier Conference Room to help ambulatory practice staff members prepare for the upcoming Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) survey. Representatives from Environmental Health and Safety, Health Information Management, Human Resources, Infection Control, Pharmacy, Police and Security and the Practice Support Unit were on hand to present the latest information on JCAHO topics such as the National Patient Safety Goals and the tracer methodology. Visitors left with bags filled with information, posters and readiness checklists. For more information about preparing for the JCAHO survey in outpatient practices, call the Practice Support Unit at (617) 726-2681; for hospitalwide preparations, call the MGH Compliance Office at (617) 726-5109; or visit www.massgeneral.org/jcaho.
