MGH
blue card changes
The MGH patient blue cards now will include some changes. The blue cards
are primarily used to communicate the patient's medical record number.
In order to support privacy initiatives and to ensure accurate and current
medical record information, the new cards will not include the patient
address and primary care physician. All other information will remain
the same.
Updated blue cards will be phased in as new patients register and existing
patients make updates to their registration information. Patients are
not required to replace their old cards with the newer version, however,
new blue cards can be ordered by calling the Registration and Referral
Center at (866) 211-6588 or by visiting Patient Registration in the WACC,
first floor, Patient Financial Services in Yawkey, second floor, or the
Registration office at any MGH health care center.
For more information, contact Kristine Lania at (617) 724-6745.
