MGH
and MSPCA-Angell team up for Human and Hound Blood Drive
Whether for emergency surgery or cancer treatments, people and pets need
safe blood supplies. The MGH and MSPCA-Angell Memorial Animal Medical
Center are joining together to help meet this critical demand at the first
Human & Hound Blood Drive which will be held Nov. 4 from 8 am to 2
pm at the Angell Animal Medical Center in Jamaica Plain.
This
unique event will allow people to donate at the MGH Bloodmobile which
will be parked on-site at the animal hospital. At the same time, healthy
dogs that have an appointment and meet several health requirements can
give blood through the Angell Blood Donor Program.
For more information about dog blood donor requirements or to schedule
an appointment, call the Angell Animal Medical Center at (617) 989-1504
or e-mail angellblooddonor@mspca.org.
To schedule a human blood donor appointment at the MGH Bloodmobile or
Donor Center, call (617) 726-8177 or visit www.massgeneral.org/blooddonor/.
Walk-ins also are welcome.
