  • Flu vaccine for patients offered
    The MGH is preparing for the approaching flu season by offering patients the option of receiving the flu vaccine while hospitalized. MGH clinicians now can order the flu vaccine through the Provider Order Entry (POE) system as a primary preventative measure and a precaution for patients who are unable to obtain a flu vaccine in other settings.
  • Bazari and Weinstein receive top ACGME honors
    Hasan Bazari, MD, program director for the MGH Department of Medicine Training Program, and Debra Weinstein, MD, of the MGH Gastrointestinal Unit and vice president for Graduate Medical Education at Partners, were named the recipients of two awards from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  • Award-winning Alzheimer's film premieres at the MGH
    A film devoted to patients and families adjusting to a new diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease — created by the MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit — has won a number of prestigious health education awards, including a Health Information Award, a Remi Award and an International Health and Medical Media Award, also known as a FREDDIE. The film, "Family Matters: Coming Together for Alzheimer's," will be premiered at the MGH during a special program Nov. 16, beginning at 5:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium.
  • A weekend of hope for patients with vascular malformations
    During the weekend of Oct. 28, Martin C. Mihm, Jr., MD, FACP, senior dermatopathologist and director of the MGH Pigmented Lesion Clinic, and colleagues from MGH Dermatology, Pathology, Pediatric Surgery and Radiology, hosted the tenth annual Weekend of Hope for individuals with hemangiomas or vascular malformations.
  • Storybook Ball a fabulous success
    MGH employees and friends joined Cinderella and her guests long before the clock struck midnight at the seventh annual MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) Storybook Ball.
  • Operation A.B.L.E. awards outstanding MGHers
    Four MGH employees were selected as the recipients of the Outstanding Worker Award given by Operation A.B.L.E. (Ability Based on Long Experience) and the Massachusetts Chapter of the AARP.
