Hand hygiene slogan contest
The MGH STOP (Stop Transmission of Pathogens) Task Force is holding a
contest to identify a slogan employees can use to remind one another to
practice hand hygiene. The winner will receive a football autographed
by New England Patriots Richard Seymour. Entrants should consider the
following guidelines: the slogan can be a single word, phrase or complete
sentence; it should be distinct and not easily confused with common terms
or medical phrases; and it should be discreet to avoid causing embarrassment
or concern. The deadline for entries is July 1. Entries can be submitted
by the following methods: e-mail to jtarselli@partners.org
or hschleicher@partners.org;
interoffice mail to the Infection Control Unit, Bulfinch 330; or dropped-off
in the entry box at the information desk across from Coffee Central.
New ED entrance to be
constructed in Main Lobby
Beginning June 23, a portion of the Main Lobby will be blocked off for
the construction of a new outside entrance to the Emergency Department
(ED). On June 23 and 24, the ED will remain open through the outdoor ambulance
entrance only. All MGH staff and visitors inside the hospital who wish
to travel to the ED, Vincent floors 6 through 9 or the Massachusetts Eye
and Ear Infirmary via the Clinics corridor will need to exit the Main
Lobby revolving doors, turn right and re-enter through the ED ambulance
sliding doors. Once a temporary passageway is completed June 24, indoor
travel will resume. MGHers are asked to assist patients and visitors find
their way. For more information, contact Brad Seamans at (617) 726-2442.
