MGH-MEEI Bridge: Clinical Connector opens July 16

The MGH-Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) Bridge: Clinical Connector will be open for clinical traffic only beginning July 16. The Clinics Building first floor will close July 20.

MGH and MEEI employees using the bridge for clinical purposes will have access to the bridge from 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. During off hours, the bridge can be accessed via videophone, which will be monitored by MGH and MEEI Police and Security from 6 pm to 6 am Monday through Friday and 24 hours Saturday and Sunday. Other staff and visitors going to MEEI from the MGH will need to exit through the MGH Main Lobby doors and walk outside along Fruit Street to the MEEI building entrance.

In the case of a code emergency in the bridge area, MGH responders can access adult and pediatric code carts in the Intermediate Care Area on the second floor of the Ellison Building. All emergencies will be treated in the Ellison Intermediate Care Area in Room 225.

MGHers who will use the bridge frequently include members of the MGH Code Team, Materials Management, Patient and Specimen Transport, Police and Security, Volunteer Services, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy and Nursing. Representatives from each group will attend a training session during the week of July 9. Attendees will learn about the access system and emergency procedures so that they can orient their colleagues. For more information or to attend one of the training sessions, contact Angela Marquez at pager 15167 or amarquez1@partners.org.
