MGH men speak out against abuse An initiative based at the MGH acknowledged the Father's
Day holiday by recognizing the important role men can play in ending all
forms of gender violence. For the third year, MGH Men Against Abuse hosted
events June 12 to encourage fathers, sons, brothers and friends to pledge
to never commit, condone or remain silent about men's violence against
women. The activities began with a morning service in the MGH Chapel aimed
at drawing attention to men's roles in eliminating domestic violence.
After the service, participants were given the opportunity to sign a commitment
against violence and to learn more about the group at an information table
in the Main Corridor. Men Against Abuse was created three years ago with
the goals of fostering awareness and offering educational opportunities
about abuse and encouraging everyone — particularly men —
to speak up about violence against women. |
