  • The Responsible Physician Project makes it easy
    When a patient is admitted to the MGH, he or she often is seen by more than one physician, each delivering different aspects of care. Therefore, caregivers may need to ask, "Who is the physician in charge of this patient?" The Responsible Physician Project makes it easy to answer this question, helping providers identify the responding clinician at a moment's notice.
  • A proud day for ProTech students
    Each August, the MGH celebrates the achievements of a special group of East Boston High School (EBHS) students who, in addition to completing their required school courses, have spent two years at the hospital as interns with the ProTech program, an initiative developed by the MGH Community Benefit Program and EBHS. This year’s nine graduates joined their families and MGH colleagues in the Thier Conference Room Aug. 23 for a graduation ceremony that highlighted the students’ work and recognized the MGH supervisors and coworkers who supported them.
  • In memoriam: Jack H. Mendelson, MD
    Jack H. Mendelson, MD, director of McLean Hospital’s Clinical Research Program on Substance Abuse, co-director of its Alcohol and Drug Abuse Research Center (ADARC) and a professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, died Aug. 15 after a brief illness. He was 77.
  • MGH/MGPO Clinical Systems Audit slated for November
    Beginning Nov. 12, the MGH/MGPO will hold its first Clinical Systems Audit, a comprehensive review of all employees who have access to the Longitudinal Medical Record (LMR) and the Clinical Data Repository (CDR).
  • Back to school: MGH employees benefit from tuition assistance
    This month, many MGH employees may be returning to school to advance their skills or pursue a college degree. As an advocate for career growth and education, the MGH aims to help employees who are current or aspiring students meet educational costs through its tuition assistance program.
  • In memoriam: Anne Alonso, PhD
    Anne Alonso, PhD, director of the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies and director of the Endowment for the Advancement of Psychotherapy at MGH and Harvard Medical School, died Aug. 26 following an illness.
