Conversations with Caregivers Eldercare Series
As part of its Conversations with Caregivers Eldercare Series, the MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit will host “Juggling Caregiving and Work” Sept. 11, from 5:15
to 6:30 pm in the Blum Center. Janet T. Laughlin, LICSW, CEAP, of the Partners Employee Assistance Program, will be the guest speaker. For more information, call (617) 726-4612.

Senior HealthWISE events
MGH Senior HealthWISE will offer a one-hour exercise session, “Fall Into Fitness,” Sept. 13, from 11 am to noon at the Clubs at Charles River Park. Lunch will be served from noon to 1 pm. Senior HealthWISE also will host a memoir writing workshop Sept. 17, from 11 am to noon in the Haber Conference Room led by a representative of Grub Street, Inc., a writing center. Senior HealthWISE also will offer free hypertension screenings and blood pressure checks Sept. 17, from 1: 30 to 2:30 pm at the West End Civic Association Community Room, One Emerson Place. Making a Difference grant reception
All MGH employees, staff and volunteers are invited to attend a reception and poster display in recognition of the 2007 Making a Difference grant recipients. Women in Medicine Month lecture
In honor of Women in Medicine Month, the MGH Office for Women’s Careers will host “Prospects for Innovation: Opportunities and Challenges Ahead” Sept. 17, from noon to 1 pm in the Thier Conference Room. Susan Hockfield, PhD, president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be the guest speaker. To register, e-mail womens.careers@partners.org by Sept. 12.

Fashion show and cocktails
Celebrate Boston Fashion Week with a cocktail reception and fashion show Sept. 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Grand Ballroom at Taj Boston, 15 Arlington Street.
