Competitive wage and salary
program continues
Thanks to another year of positive financial performance, the MGH
again will offer employees a competitive wage and salary program for
fiscal year 2008. The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization
(MGPO) will follow a similar approach, with each practice responsible
for making the compensation decisions based on the financial ability
to participate.
The MGH wage and salary program will provide up to a 5 percent increase
in pay for employees on their raise-effective date, funded at 3 percent.
Employees who are above the maximum point of their pay range are eligible
for a bonus of up to 3 percent on their raise-effective date, funded
at 2 percent. A completed performance appraisal is required before
any increase or bonus is processed.
"In the past year, we have seen tremendous progress in all aspects
of hospital operations that could not have been achieved without the
hard work and dedication of all our employees and staff," says
Peter L. Slavin, MD, MGH president. "I'm proud to see the spirit
of collaboration that is taking place in every department, every unit
and every practice to reach this goal."
Any questions about the wage and salary program should be directed
to employees' managers or supervisors.
