Simga Theta Tau International, a nursing honor society, has named MGH Patient Care Services the 2007 recipient of the biennial Public Media Award for Print for its work on the four-part Boston Globe series, "Critical Care: The Making of an ICU Nurse." MGH Surgical Intensive Care Unit nurses Michelle "MJ" Pender, RN, and Julia Zelixon, RN, were featured in the newspaper in October 2005 for their participation in the MGH New Graduate Critical Care Nursing Program — Pender as a preceptor and Zelixon as her new graduate preceptee.
