MGH CarePages feature new patient safety link

Launched in 2005 by Patient Care Services, MGH CarePages are free, easy-to-use web pages that help family and friends communicate when a loved one is receiving medical care. Recently, the hospital introduced a new patient safety feature to its CarePages to help empower patients, family members and friends to become collaborative members of the health care team. The new link provides an array of patient safety information such as "Five Steps to Safer Health Care" from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and important items about taking and tracking medications, avoiding infection, practicing good hand hygiene as well as links to additional patient safety resources. Related informational brochures and forms also are available for downloading at the site. For more information about the MGH CarePages, contact Georgia Peirce, director of Promotional Communication and Publicity for Patient Care Services, at gwpeirce@partners.org.
