  • Down time: Clinics, Tilton and VBK buildings pass into history
    Before this month, much of the demolition of the Clinics, Vincent Burnham Kennedy (VBK) and Tilton buildings had occured behind the scenes. But now, passersby can see a dramatic change, as the demolition of the front façade of the Clinics Building has begun.
  • MGPA: Showing postdocs the way
    In the competitive world of professional medical research, postdoctoral fellowships have a reputation of being demanding experiences. These PhD-level positions usually are occupied by scientists just beginning their careers, and with the challenging workload come questions about career advancement. In 2006, several postdocs — as postdoctoral fellows often are called — came together to create the Mass General Postdoc Association (MGPA) to address these and other issues.
  • McLoud, Novelline and Thrall honored by RSNA
    MGH physicians Theresa McLoud, MD; Robert Novelline, MD; and James Thrall, MD; recently were recognized as some of the nation's best in the field of radiology, with each receiving significant accolades from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) during the organization's annual meeting in November.
  • Christopher's Haven makes a difference
    Dan Olsen, founder of Christopher's Haven — an organization that provides a comfortable and supportive home for families of pediatric patients undergoing cancer treatment at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children — recently chose to celebrate a special honor at the Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center.
  • Gearing up for the MGH bicentennial
    To officially mark and celebrate the MGH's bicentennial, an exciting and wide-ranging yearlong program of special events, projects and activities are being planned for the year 2011.
