Christopher's Haven makes a difference

Dan Olsen, founder of Christopher's Haven — an organization that provides a comfortable and supportive home for families of pediatric patients undergoing cancer treatment at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children — recently chose to celebrate a special honor at the Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center. In recognition of his love of helping others, Olsen was selected to appear in Boston Magazine's December 2007 issue in a Dunkin Donuts ad featuring Bostonians who "run on Dunkin and make a difference." Dunkin Donuts and Boston Magazine also offered to host a party at a location of Olsen's choice.

Olsen chose to celebrate with several Christopher's Haven patients and their families at the Proton Center. He pointed out why Christopher's Haven is so important for the Proton Center patients: "Christopher's Haven aims to make the lives for kids with cancer and their families as normal as possible by providing a home away from home."
