Senior HealthWISE lecture
The MGH Senior HealthWISE lecture series will offer "Foot Care Tips for Seniors" Jan. 17, from 11 am to noon in the Haber Conference Room. Jordana Szpiro, podiatrist with Boston Common Podiatry, will be the guest speaker. For more information, call (617) 724-6756.

Conversations with Caregivers eldercare series
As part of its Conversations with Caregivers eldercare series, the MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit will host "Legal and Estate Planning for Older Adults" Jan. 15, from 5:15 to 6:30 pm in the Blum Center. HAZMAT disaster drill
MGH Emergency Preparedness will hold a HAZMAT (hazardous materials) disaster drill Jan. 16, from 5 to 9 pm. During the drill, all staff, patients and visitors should enter the hospital through the Wang Lobby. North Grove Street will be blocked to traffic during the exercise, so employees reporting to work after 5 pm should access the Parkman Street Garage via Blossom Street. Volunteers needed for EBHS Speaker's Bureau

Disparities web seminar
The MGH Disparities Solutions Center is offering a web seminar, "QI and the EMR: Identifying and Addressing Disparities in Chronic Disease Management," Jan. 22, from 3 to 4:30 pm. The seminar will cover how the electronic medical record can improve quality and reduce disparities. The guest speakers will be Lou Capponi, MD, of New York City Health and Hospital Corporation; Rand David, MD, of Mount Sinai School of Medicine; and Thomas Sequist, MD, of BWH and Harvard Medical School. Psychodynamic psychotherapy case conference

DSC/MAO film series
As part of its 2008 film series, the MGH Disparities Solutions Center and the MGH Multicultural Affairs Office are co-hosting a screening of "Miss Evers' Boys" Jan. 17, from 5 to 7 pm in the OÕKeeffe Auditorium. Valerie Stone, MD, director of the MGH Women's HIV/AIDS Program and the Primary Care Residency Program; and Michael Byrd, MD, medical historian at Harvard School of Public Health and a physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; will participate in a discussion following the screening. MLK event
