Honoring theonehundred
This year marks the MGH Cancer Center's inaugural tribute to theonehundred — individuals and teams whose extraordinary commitment to compassionate care, clinical excellence, discovery and philanthropy have helped position the MGH Cancer Center as a leader in cancer treatment, research, care and support. All are encouraged to submit one
or more nominations of teams and individuals. Those eligible include anyone who has made
a significant contribution to advancing the fight against cancer and providing effective, compassionate care, including those who have enhanced the caregiving experience, patients whose courage offers hope to others, those who contribute through support, philanthropy and other meaningful ways, and researchers who have pushed the boundaries of cancer medicine through scientific breakthroughs and clinical care advances.
"The individuals who will be nominated and selected represent the special talent and commitment that can be found in every area of the MGH Cancer Center," says Bruce Chabner, MD, clinical director of the MGH Cancer Center. "We are so proud of the people who are part of our Cancer Center family, not only the staff, but also the men, women and children who trust us with their care. We hope that people throughout the MGH will take a moment to nominate those they feel are courageously fighting cancer in any capacity. No contribution is too small to be recognized."
Nominators should consider those who have helped to enhance the cancer caregiving experience through expert and compassionate care; patients whose courage is an emblem of hope for others; individuals or groups who advance the fight against cancer through philanthropy, support or other meaningful ways; and individuals or groups who push the boundaries of cancer medicine through research and clinical care advances.
Nominations must be received by Feb. 15. This year's nominees and those selected will be celebrated at a dinner and a recognition event June 5. To submit a nomination online, visit www.massgeneral.org/cancer/theonehundred. For questions, call (617) 724-3637 or send an e-mail to theonehundred@partners.org.
