United Way campaign a success
The MGH's 2007 United Way campaign has come to a close, and there's reason
to celebrate. This year, the hospital raised more than $373,000 for the organization, exceeding the campaign goal of $355,000. An annual MGH fall tradition, the hospital hosts the campaign to provide support for local community agencies in the 87 Massachusetts cities and towns served by the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.
"The United Way campaign allows the MGH to give back to our local communities by helping address the needs of individuals, children and families who may lack necessities such as affordable housing, sustainable employment and educational opportunities," says Patricia Sheehan of Human Resources, co-chair of this year's campaign with Britain Nicholson, MD, chief medical officer. "Our thanks go to the many MGH employees
and staff whose generosity and dedication made this campaign such a success. Their efforts make a true difference in the lives of the people served by the United Way."
