Senior HealthWISE film series
The MGH Senior HealthWISE film series will host a free screening of "Happy Feet" Jan. 24, from 10:30 am to noon in the Haber Conference Room. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call (617) 724-6756.

Conversations with Caregivers eldercare series
The MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit will offer "Understanding Dementia in Older Adults" Jan. 22, from 5:15 to 6:30 pm in the Blum Center. Perry An, MD, of the MGH Department of Medicine, will present. For more information or to register, call (617) 724-7324.

Disparities forum
The MGH Disparities Solutions Center, the Community Benefit Program, the Multicultural Affairs Office and the Committee on Racial and Ethnic Disparities will co-host the annual disparities forum, "New Orleans: Past, Present and Future" Jan. 23, from 12:30 to 2 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Speakers Ronald Chisholm, of The People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, and Donald Erwin, MD, and Mary Abell, MD, both of the St. Thomas Community Health Center, will discuss the impact of Hurricane Katrina on health care in New Orleans. CIMIT grant applications
CIMIT is accepting applications for its science and clinical systems innovation grants, which support research teams focusing on early stage medical devices,
procedures, diagnosis and procedural systems that will result in better patient care.
Pre-proposals for grants in both categories are due by Feb. 9. Teams whose pre-proposals are accepted will be required to submit a full proposal by March 16. Decisions will be made by May 4. For more information, visit www.cimit.org.

Racial and Ethnic Disparities seminar series
As part of its Racial and Ethnic Disparities: Keeping Current seminar series, the MGH Disparities Solutions Center will host a seminar Jan. 24, from noon to 1 pm in the Trustees Room. Joel Weissman, PhD, of the MGH Institute for Health Policy, and Ashish Jha, MD, MPH, of the Harvard School of Public Health, will present. Lunch will be served. Negotiating Industry Contracts
The MGH Clinical Research Program will sponsor "Negotiating Industry Contracts: Responsibility for Subject Injury and Access to Data from Other Sites" Feb. 5, from 3:30 to 5 pm in the Simches Research Center, Room 3110.
