  • Innovative approaches to clinical obstacles
    Established in 2006 to help bridge the gap between new clinical evidence and current clinical practice, the MGH Clinical Innovation Awards support physicians, nurses and allied health professionals with an interest in applying their knowledge and creativity to improve day-to-day patient management at the hospital.
  • At MGH Revere, families read early, read often
    Fourteen young readers enjoyed a special visit Feb. 1, when the Chairman of the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means, State Rep. Robert DeLeo, visited the MGH Revere HealthCare Center to support Reach Out and Read, a youth literacy program. DeLeo read aloud from two books, asking and answering questions along the way to reinforce the importance and value of reading.
  • FSA expenses for 2007
    MGH employees with 2007 Health Care or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) have until March 15 to incur expenses and until March 31 to submit them to the Benefits Office.
  • Hamilton helps cycle funds to MGH YouthCare
    Though no one needs proof that the MGH "rocks," bassist Tom Hamilton of the legendary Boston band Aerosmith made it clear Jan. 31 with the donation of his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
  • SavePower!
    Beginning March 10, the MGH will launch a new energy conservation and cost savings initiative for desktop computers called SavePower!
  • Me and my shadow
    Much like the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, several MGH and Partners HealthCare employees were met on the morning of Feb. 1 by their "shadows."
  • Black history celebration
    Celebrating African-American history was the focus of the evening Feb. 7 as MGHers gathered at the Museum of African American History for an event hosted by the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AAMP) and the Multicultural Affairs Office (MAO).
