Genetic literacy course
The MGH Clinical Research Education Unit and the Center for Human Genetics Research are co-sponsoring "Genetic Literacy: A Guide to Understanding the Language and Basic Concepts of Human Genetic Research" March 13, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm in the Simches Research Center, Room 3110. The course is designed to briefly describe the terminology, technologies and methodologies of modern genetics. Four contact hours are available for nurses. To register, visit hub.partners.org. HMS Red Book Fellowship Program
Harvard Medical School (HMS) is accepting applications for its Red Book Fellowship Program, which comprises invitation-only opportunities for postdoctoral fellows and faculty. Potential candidates must first apply through the Red Book Fellowship Program, which will select the applications to be forwarded to the foundations. An informational town meeting will be held March 6, from noon to 1:30 pm at HMS, Gordon Hall, Waterhouse Room. The application deadline is April 9. AMS Nursing Career Expo
MGH Human Resources will host an Anticoagulation Management Services (AMS) Nursing Career Expo March 5 in the Haber Conference Room. Sessions will be held from 1 to 1:30 pm, 1:45 to 2:15 pm and 2:30 to 3 pm for staff nurses to learn about careers in anticoagulation therapy and meet with members of the department. Call for abstracts for Clinical Research Day
MGH investigators are invited to submit abstracts for MGH Clinical Research Day May 22. Abstracts must be on clinical research and published in 2008 to be considered. Awards will be presented in the following categories: team ($5,000),
translational research ($1,500) and individual ($1,000). A number of departmental prizes also will be awarded. Abstracts may be submitted online at crp.abstract

Blum Center Lunch-n-Learn Series
