Boston Bruins' close shave GRIN AND BARE IT: Boston Bruins players shave their heads for "Cuts for a Cause." Seven Boston Bruins players — Aaron Ward, Andrew Alberts, Patrice Bergeron, Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic, Mark Stuart and Dennis Wideman — were a cut above the rest March 31. Partnering with WBCN-FM, the teammates had their heads shaved for "Cuts for a Cause," an event benefiting the MassGeneral Hospital for Children's (MGHfC) Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Bruins fans placed bids to attend the event, and the top six bidders won the opportunity to personally shave a player's hair and take home his autographed team jersey. Several other donors, including the Jacobs family, owners of the Bruins; the National Hockey League; the National League Players Association's Goals and Dreams Foundation; New England Sports Network; Philips Norelco; and "The Buzz" supported the event, raising $25,000 for the MGHfC. |
