Senior HealthWISE events
MGH Senior HealthWISE is sponsoring an exercise session "Spring Into Fitness" April 19, from 11 am to 1 pm at The Clubs at Charles River Park. Lunch will be served and registration is required. Senior HealthWISE also will offer free hypertension screenings and blood pressure checks April 23, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the West End Library, 151 Cambridge St. Also on April 23, the program will host a cooking demonstration from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the East Garden Room. EMR Education Series
The MGPO is offering an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Education Series to assist physicians in learning to use EMRs. Physicians must complete four hours of EMR education by Oct. 31 to be eligible for the MGPO's incentive program, to be paid in December 2007. Classes also qualify for risk management CME credit. Healthy eating seminar
The Employee Assistance Program will host "Eating Right and Staying Healthy with Today's Busy Lifestyles" April 19, from noon to 1 pm in the Thier Conference Room. Suzanne Landry, MS, RD, LDN, clinical nutrition specialist for MGH Ambulatory Services and the Be Fit program, will discuss topics such as reading food labels, choosing healthy snacks and preparing healthy meals when time is limited. Mind body seminar for parents
The Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH is offering "Solutions for Creating Calm in Yourself and in Your Family" April 25, from 10 to 11:30 am at 824 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill. Patricia Martin Arcari, RN, PhD, clinical nurse specialist at the institute, will discuss strategies for dealing with the stresses of parenting.
