Homayoun Kazemi, MD, chief emeritus of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Unit at the MGH, was honored with the 2012 American Thoracic Society Recognition Award for Scientific Accomplishments for his research on pulmonary pathophysiology, in particular his studies of central respiratory control. The award, given during the society’s May 21 international conference, recognizes outstanding scientific contributions in basic or clinical research to the understanding, prevention and treatment of lung disease.
