Nuclear Cardiology provides a full range of diagnostic imaging procedures as well as non-imaging treadmill testing. MGH staff have special expertise in the use of both single photon and positron tomography for diagnosing and evaluating patients with coronary artery disease. Myocardial perfusion imaging is performed in conjunction with conventional treadmill testing to provide a comprehensive non-invasive examination. Patients with impaired cardiac function are specifically evaluated to distinguish hibernating myocardium from myocardial scar.
