Emergency Radiology Fellowship
The one-year emergency radiology fellowship provides exposure to imaging in both traumatic and non-traumatic emergency situations in a level-1 trauma center.
This one-year fellowship in Emergency Radiology involves both the imaging of traumatic and non-traumatic emergency conditions. The Emergency Radiology Division is located adjacent to the Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Department, a major Level-1 Trauma Center for New England. The Division sees over 90,000 patients per year. Approximately 110,000 imaging examinations are performed annually in the Emergency Radiology Division which is equipped with 16 and 64-slice multi-detector CT scanners, a 1.5T MR scanner, ultrasound, and three digital radiographic rooms. The Division is completely digital with film interpretation on six PACS workstations and a 3-D workstation. Daily work is performed in a spacious consultation room with dictation using voice-recognition software.
Teaching of fellows is provided at daily case review conference, weekly teaching conferences and research meetings. Consultation throughout the workday occurs with our team of staff radiologists and emergency department physicians. The emergency radiology fellow participates in divisional educational and research activities, including resident and medical student teaching of emergency radiology and participation in a wide variety of ongoing clinical investigations.
