Chest Imaging

Date: 10/15/2012 - 10/17/2012
Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Description:
Chest Radiology is no longer a field where chest x-rays are the sole modality of imaging. The specialty is now much more comprehensive and includes Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Interventional procedure. Interventional work includes obtaining adequate tissue for molecular work up in the growing field of molecular targets for lung cancer. The Radiologists role is expanding significantly in this area. This rapidly expanding subspecialty makes it difficult for those in private practice to stay current. Thus, this three day chest course will include sessions on imaging in lung cancer, interventional radiology in the chest, interstitial lung disease, vascular and cardiac diseases as well as mediastinal pathologies, airways diseases, pulmonary nodule evaluation, pulmonary infections and methods or radiation dose reduction.
