The MGH has received a $50,000 grant from the Picker Institute's Always Events Challenge Grant Program to design and implement a pilot project, "Always Responsive," aimed at improving responsiveness to patient needs. The project will be led by Gaurdia Banister, RN, PhD, executive director of the Institute for Patient Care, and the grant will be matched by the MGH.
Roy Perlis, MD, MSc, director of the MGH Psychiatry Center for Experimental Drugs and Diagnostics, is the recipient of the 2010 Klerman Young Investigator Award. The Klerman Awards, named after Gerald L. Klerman, MD, an influential psychiatrist, are the highest honors given by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance to members of the scientific community.
Scott Gazelle, MD, MPH, PHD, of MGH Imaging and director of the Institute for Technology Assessment, is a recipient of this year's Gold Medal from the Association of University Radiologists. The medal is awarded in recognition of exceptional service or contributions to the association, academic radiology or the field of radiology in general.
