Mass General radiologists will present over 100 papers and posters at the 99th scientific assembly and annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), covering a wide range of topics from humanitarian teleradiology to healthcare reform to advances in imaging technology. Over 50,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, physicists, technologists and allied health care professionals from around the world are expected to attend.
Also at this year's meeting in Chicago, December 1 to 6, the RSNA Board of Directors will present Mass General Vice Chair for Education and past RSNA President Theresa C. McLoud, MD with the RSNA Gold Medal. The society's highest honor, the Gold Medal is awarded annually to a select few who have rendered unusual service to the science of radiology. Dr. McLoud is a world-reknowned thoracic radiologist whose research focuses on interstitial lung disease, CT of the thorax, lung cancer imaging and occupational lung disease.
“I am deeply honored to receive the Gold Medal of the Radiological Society of North America. I am most proud of two choices I made in my professional life: becoming a radiologist and having the privilege of serving the RSNA. Much gratitude is due to all my mentors and professional colleagues,” said Dr. McLoud.
