Biography

Nickeisha (Nicky) Stephenson received her undergraduate degree from Ithaca College in 2005. She then went on to earn her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was jointly advised by Professors Samuel H. Gellman and Shannon S. Stahl.  Her doctoral research focused on developing new methodologies for catalytic amide exchange reactions, namely; transamidation, amide metathesis and ammonolysis. In 2011, she began a postdoctoral position with Professor Tobias Ritter at Harvard University where she worked on catalytic carbon-fluorine bond forming reactions for utilization in positron emission tomography (PET). In 2013 she transitioned into the lab of Dr. Neil Vasdev at Harvard medical school and Massachusetts General Hospital, where she is currently working on the radiolabelling trifluoromethyl groups.
