Massachusetts General Hospital is conveniently located in downtown Boston, and it is accessible by automobile and public transportation. Parking is available at the hospital; but, as with any large city hospital, parking can be limited during peak hours.

To visit the Reproductive Endocrinology department:

Follow the directions to Mass General.
Once at the main campus, take North Grove Street,
take a right onto Parkman Street,
and then a left onto the circular drive.

Reproductive Endocrinology is to the right,
in the Bartlett Hall Extension Building – on the fifth floor.

Getting to Mass General by Automobile

From the North:

By way of Storrow Drive

Via I-93 or I-1 take the Storrow Drive exit and get in the left lane
Take the Government Center exit off Storrow Drive
Follow signs to Downtown and Government Center (Cambridge Street)
At first set of lights take left onto North Grove Street
Parking garages on left or right

By way of New Chardon Street

From I-93 Southbound, take Exit 25 (Haymarket Square/Government Center)
Follow New Chardon Street (bear right at the I-93 off-ramp) toward Government Center
Straight through 1 light and turn right onto Cambridge Street
Straight through 2 lights and turn right onto North Grove Street
Parking garages are on the left or right on North Grove Street

From the South:

By way of Storrow Drive

Via Southeast Expressway (I-93) take the Storrow Drive exit
Take the Government Center exit off Storrow Drive
Follow signs to Downtown and Government Center (Cambridge Street)
At first set of lights take left onto North Grove Street
Parking garages on left or right

By way of Causeway Street

From I-93 Northbound, take Exit 25 (Causeway Street/North Station)
At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Causeway Street; stay in the left-most lane on Causeway Street
Bear left onto Staniford Street
At the 1st light, turn right onto Cambridge Street
Straight through 1 light and turn right onto North Grove Street
Parking garages are on the left or right on North Grove Street

From the West

Via the Massachusetts Turnpike take the Cambridge-Allston exit
Bear right after the toll booth
Make a right at first set of lights onto Storrow Drive
After approximately five (5) miles take the Government Center exit
Follow signs to Downtown and Government Center (Cambridge Street)
At first set of lights take left onto North Grove Street
Parking garages on left or right

From the East

To the east of Mass General is Boston Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean.
From the immediate vicinity, drive to Cambridge Street as indicated above, and then turn onto North Grove Street and proceed to the parking lots.

Getting from Logan Airport to Mass General Hospital

By Subway: Monday through Friday

Take the Bowdoin-bound Blue Line (which is "inbound").
Take the 5th stop - the last stop - Bowdoin.
From the Bowdoin Stop, you will exit onto Cambridge Street.
Head north on Cambridge Street (a Dunkin' Donuts will be on your left, on the opposite side of the street).
Mass General is a 5-minute walk.
Turn left onto North Grove Street
The main entrance is straight ahead.

By Subway: Saturday and Sunday
(When the Blue Line ends at Government Center)

Take the Bowdoin-bound Blue Line (which is "inbound").
Take the 4th stop - the last stop - Government Center
From the Government Center Stop, you will exit onto Cambridge Street.
Exiting the station, turn left - heading north on Cambridge Street.
Mass General is a 10-minute walk.
Turn left onto North Grove Street
The main entrance is straight ahead.

By Automobile:

From the airport, take the main road out.
Stay in the middle lane.
Go through the Sumner Tunnel.
On the other side of the tunnel, take the first exit: Route 93 -- North.
Take the Storrow Drive exit
Take the Government Center exit off Storrow Drive
Follow signs to Downtown and Government Center (Cambridge Street)
At first set of lights take left onto North Grove Street
Parking garages on left or right

In Boston, the subway system is known as the MBTA - the Mass Bay Transit Authority - commonly called the "T." It comprises four lines, each known by a color: Red Line, Blue Line, Green Line and Orange Line.
The easiest line to Mass General is the Red Line, Charles Street/MGH station.

Please note that this station is not currently handicap accessible. The Green Line, Haymarket T-stop is the nearest handicap accessible stop.

Directions to the Charles Street/MGH Station

Take the Alewife-bound Red Line train to Charles Street/MGH Station
Follow exit signs to MGH
Follow Cambridge Street one block
Take left onto North Grove Street
The main entrance is straight ahead.

By Train (Commuter Rail and Amtrak)

The Commuter Rail consists of AMTRAK trains which function as part of the "T."

They are distinguished by the color purple; and sometimes called the Purple Line, but, more often, they are simply called the Commuter Rail.

To get to Mass General by Commuter Rail or by regular AMTRAK service from another city, take a train to either South Station or North Station.

From South Station take the Red Line toward Alewife
From North Station take the Green Line to Park Street and change to the Red Line
Take the Red Line to Charles Street/MGH Station
Follow exit signs to MGH
Follow Cambridge Street one block
Take left onto North Grove Street
The main entrance is straight ahead
