The goal of the Mass General Clinical Research Center (CRC) is to provide nursing support, facilities and equipment to clinical investigators, who conduct patient-oriented research. The CRC can be used by investigators who are supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other federal, state and local agencies, foundations, individual departments or by the private sector. The CRC is also an appropriate site for pilot studies that may lead to future NIH support. The CRC can provide experienced research nurses, dieticians, dedicated research space, laboratory space and other support.
Clinical Research Center (CRC)
The DCR is Mass General’s infrastructure for clinical investigators and study staff. The DCR provides support for investigators and study teams, and education for all involved in clinical research to ensure best clinical research practices.
Division of Clinical Research
The Investigational Drug Service (IDS) offers pharmaceutical services and guidance to support research activities for all research groups and investigators engaged in research. The IDS ensures the delivery of high quality pharmaceutical care by adhering to all laws and regulations while minimizing the risks associated with participation in an investigational drug trial. IDS stores and dispenses investigational drugs for Mass General. In addition, IDS reviews all protocols containing drug therapy at sub-committee meeting and provides pharmacy approval ensuring the PI meets all FDA requirements for drug safety and accountability.

Research Compliance promotes integrity and compliance through all research and sponsored programs. Research Compliance is responsible for monitoring clinical trial billing practices, providing the research community with prompt response to incidents of non-compliance and the development of corrective action plans as well as providing a means for reporting problems or misconduct without fear of retaliation.

Partners Clinical Research Office is responsible for negotiating budgets and contracts with industry/for-profit sponsors on behalf of investigators and the hospital.

The Partners Human Research Committee (PHRC) is the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Partners Research Management. The PHRC must approve all human-subject research conducted by a Partners-affiliated investigator.
Interactions with industry provide important support to the mission of Partners and its hospitals to carry out high quality and leading edge medicine, research, medical education, and in translating scientific discoveries into advances that improve medical care.

The Partners QI Program is committed to providing on-going support and education to the research community. The QI staff works closely with study staff to ensure optimal conduct of human research within the framework of federal regulations, institutional policies, and good clinical practice.
Partners Research Computing provides a variety of software and support services to investigators. The Research Patient Data Registry (RPDR), REDCap and StudyTrax are all databases supported by PRC.
Partners Research Computing
Partners Research Management includes PCRO, Research Finance Office and Grants and Contracts. Research Management supports researchers and hospital departments with grants, contracts, finance, systems, core facilities, analytics and industry-sponsored clinical research.
The Research Finance office partners with study staff to manage the financial activity through control and review of all research-related transactions.
This includes report preparation and distribution, grant and contract billing, receivables management, indirect cost review and cash management. This office acts as a liaison between Research Management and the broader Partners Finance organization.
Partners Innovation coordinates industrial relationships and IP management across Partners HealthCare. The team has backgrounds in technology licensing, patenting, bench research, finance, funding, business, law and start-ups.
