Warren Triennial Prize Medal

The Warren Prize is named for John C. Warren, MD, the co-founder of Massachusetts General Hospital. 

WARREN TRIENNIAL PRIZE

First awarded in 1871, the Warren Triennial Prize recognizes scientists who are seekers of and contributors to new knowledge in the service of medicine. The Warren Prize is awarded every three years, and 22 previous winners have gone on to win the Nobel Prize.

The recipient of the Warren Triennial Prize is awarded $50,000.

The 2014 Warren Prize ceremony will begin with a series of guest speakers discussing the genetics of cancer, and will conclude with a presentation from the 2014 Warren Prize recipient, Bert Vogelstein, MD.

Dr. Vogelstein is the Clayton Professor of Oncology and Pathology and Co-Director of the Ludwig Institute at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. He is being recognized for his contribution to the understanding of the role that genetics plays in cancer.
